The End of the Road

Bitter sweet.  My old apartment gave me the most spectacular sunrises from my bedroom and dining room windows. A beautiful way to start the day. The downside was that my beloved apartment memories of that time when my heart exploded in my chest, into a million little pieces. Not to mention that I did not have a balcony or access to the outside unless I went down four floors.

My new apartment is lovely. A ground floor duplex, with a front porch, back balcony and a backyard. I find myself sitting on my front porch each and every day. And the best part? It’s all mine. Well, mine and my kids. But I chose it, I moved my family in, I unpacked us, I placed the furniture, I put up the artwork. It’s all mine.

I’ve lost my glorious sunrises but have gained the most spectacular sunsets. While I still love a sunrise the most, I’ll take these sunsets at the end of the road.
